Senior portraits

This week I photographed beautiful Addi who is graduating this spring. I've known Addi for about 8 years as I'm close friends with her mother and it's been a joy to watch Addi grow into the great young woman she is today. We had such a fun day together photographing despite rainclouds, wind and unexpected cold weather with her mother acting as my "assistant" and being a pro with those reflectors (even the one that broke in the wind;).

Congratulations on your upcoming graduation Addi!

Seniors

Spend Saturday photographing a bunch of awesome High School students.
Talanted photographer Mary Denton Taylor, http://tayloredviewphotography.blogspot.com/
arranged for a group of photographers and seniors to get together and play with various setups, lighting, poses, etc. Thank you Mary for all your work and thank you to all the seniors who were so patient in the freezing cold.
Here are a few of the pics from the day.

Headstart

For those of you who know me, you know I volunteer for Headstart. http://www.headstart-slcap.org/
I started getting involved a few years back by sitting on their bloom committee and doing photography for invites and programs for the fundraiser and the last two years I've been donating my photographs to their website. This year I'm working with an ad team for marketing, brochures, etc. It's such an awesome organization and everytime I photograph the kiddos, I'm awestruck by their resilience, humor, love and absolute trust in letting me into their lives and hearts even for just a few hours.
I'm heading out this following week to get new photos and am looking forward to seeing these sweet kids again. I'm also embarking on a longer project following some families in the program and hoping that will be mutually rewarding. Here are a few of last year's photos.

Gallery opening

Thought it appropriate to post a hipstamatic pic from the hipstamatic show which opened at Phillips Gallery in Salt Lake City last Friday. The gallery was full of people checking out the photos and it was fun to see all the different ways people had used the Hipstamatic application for their photography.
Here's my daughter Grace checking out the wall of photos on display.
The photos are on display at the gallery until January 14, 2011, so if you have a chance, stop by.
